Tribute

It's not often that Old Trafford commemorates another club's player. Manchester United has unveiled a new statue outside their home stadium, Old Trafford, a tribute to the player that handed us the UEFA Champions League last season.

On another note, we're having a local derby against the blue side of Manchester. Robinho or not, i hope we put on a good performance as our recent form has been appalling. What better time to get back on top form in a derby against our city rivals, right before the hectic Christmas period.

Scolari's new tactic

Luiz Felipe Scolari has resorted to getting into a relationship with players he wants at Chelsea. Seems to be working well. Observe the article stolen from soccernet.com...

Kueh Rose

Our assistant head coach, Carlos "KuehRose" Queiroz, has left to be the head coach of Portugal. We at Menchesthair United would like to extend our greatest gratitude to him for unearthing great young talents like Ronaldo, Anderson and Nani for the club. Not only that, the time that he has been with us, have been the times that we have won trophies in recent seasons. I hope we can cope without him for the forthcoming season. Worst come to worst, screw up as national head coach of Portugal, then takeover from Sir Alex only la when he retires. World Cup 2010 beckons!

Slow Summer

Yes, it has been a slow summer for us at Manchester United. The only thing that is actually going on is Cristiano Ronaldo's proposed transfer to Real Madrid. Will he go? Will he stay? Does he want to go? Does he want to stay? I don't know the answer to those questions, i bet neither does anybody in the world except himself. Reports have claimed it could go either way, as for me, i'm not concerned about him leaving if he really does leave.

Reason being Manchester United has always been a team, not a one man show. You may argue that Ronaldo weighed in with the majority of our goals last season. That is an undeniable fact, but i'm very sure if Ronaldo isn't there to bang them in, the rest of the squad is more than capable to ship in goals as well. Not to forget last season was a slow season by Wayne Rooney's standards. Tevez will surely play a bigger role, which i'm sure he would relish in the absence of Ronaldo. If Real Madrid is willing to fork out 80 million pounds for him, i'm sure Ferguson would do wonders in strengthening the squad and making Ronaldo's absence a distant memory. Then there is the second scenario in which Ronaldo stays, no problem with that too.

Sepp Blatter claiming Manchester United should let Ronaldo leave if he wants to leave is utter rubbish. He continues to say that players these days are being forced in slavery of sort by clubs. Come on, oh mighty president of world football, surely you of all people know who pays the players their HUGE salary. A little bit of loyalty on the player's part towards the club that has provided them the launching pad to stardom, would be nice. I'm all for players playing for their country for the Olympics, and i think the clubs shouldn't stop them from representing their country. This is a matter of nationality and national pride. That's a whole different thing from club to club transfer.

Having a hard time thinking Sepp? No suprise there.

As for our rivals Liverpool, Rafa Benitez is really starting to resemble a second hand car dealer, offering his current players plus cash, as an exchange deal for new players. Our Americans are richer than yours.

Looking out for newer 'cars' from the corner of his eye; old 'cars' beware!

Wanna know why?

Thats why.

Post Moscow

It's been pretty quiet at Old Trafford in recent days. Some of our players are preparing for Euro 2008, the others who are not so fortunate (or fortunate; depending on how you look at it) are just kicking it back and enjoying the summer holidays. Rooney's wedding to Colleen-Ihavearichboyfriendthereforineedtoshoplikecrazy, is in the summer, so yeah...

Will be updating on important transfers in the close season. Keep checking back for updates on that. I leave you with an image that truly speaks a thousand words.

At this moment

Gloating time....hehehehhehehe

At this moment, these facts hold true:

- Manchester United is the best club in England.
- Manchester United is the best club in Europe.

Due to the fact that:
- Manchester United are the Champions of the EPL.
- Manchester United are the Champions of Europe.

Which means that:
- Manchester United is better then Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and the other clubs in the EPL
- Manchester United is better then Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, AS Roma, Juventus, etc etc etc etc.

Thank you come again :)

Next Season's Signings

One transfer target has been identified by Sir Alex,

But then again, a 4-1 win with 10 men for an hour, i guess IronMan would just have to look elsewhere for the best football club in the world.

Viva Ronaldo

Our very own winger, Cristiano Ronaldo, has achieved two awards so far this season;

1. Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year Award (voted by fellow peers)

2. Football Writer's Association Footballer of the Year Award (voted by media)

Let's hope he adds the Premier League Winner's Medal and the Champions League Winner's Medal to it. Pipping Chelski for both. Now wouldn't that be sweet!

Roman Army vs Rafa's Rotations

Nandos claims he will bang two goals in. I think he will at least get one.

Chelski seems to be interested in playing for a score-less draw. I hope they shoot themselves in the foot.

I will be watching in anticipation tonight to see both sides knock each other silly.

My personal preference will be for us to face Liverpoo in the UEFA Champions League Final.

On a lighter note, must've been quite a Louis Vuitton sale at London the other day, for our players and the Chelski stewards to be rushing for it. Handbags they say...

Like Fine Wine

In '99 he was denied a place in the final at the Nou Camp because of a suspension.

In '08 though, he was not to let it happen again.

Paul Scholes took matters into his own hands and smashed an unstoppable screamer from a good 25 yards, in the first half.

Final score, Manchester United (is the best football club in the world) 1 - 0 Barcelona

I thought the central defence partnership between Ferdinand and Brown was excellent on the night. Without Rooney and Vidic, this was to be a very good performance for the whole Manchester United team. Not to mention the 12th men in the stands lending their voices throughout the game!

.................................................VS

If Man Utd fails to get to Moscow after tonight's match right, I'll say right here in menchesthairunited.blogspot.com that...'Liver*** is the best club in the world'

Now..the match gets even more interesting!

Catalonia comes to visit

The Republic of Catalonia is coming to visit Old Trafford tomorrow.

Rooney and Vidic are both doubts for the game. Republic of Mancunia holds it's breath hoping that both of them make it.

Thus, enabling us to make Old Trafford the Theatre of Nightmares for BarcaLOWna.

  • Patrice Evra 3 (LB)
  • Rio Ferdinand 5 (CB)
  • Wes Brown 6 (CB)
  • Cristiano Ronaldo 7 (RM)
  • Wayne Rooney 10 (CF) - provided he makes it
  • Ryan Giggs 11 (LM)
  • Nemanja Vidic 15 (CB) - provided he makes it

Nightmare-Bringer Replacements (Substitutes)
  • Owen Hagreaves 4 (CM)
  • Anderson Oliveira 8 (CM)
  • Luis Nani 17 (LM)
  • Mikel Silvestre 27 (LB)
  • Tomasz Kuszczak 29 (GK)
Legend : GK - Goalkeeper; CB - Center Back; LB - Left Back; RB - Right Back; CM - Center Midfield; LM - Left Midfield; RM - Right Midfield; CF - Center Forward

Hard Week

Manchester United is the best football club in the world.

The past week has been a hard one for all of us:

- Drawing 1-1 with Black berry burn.
- Drawing 0-0 with Barca, being made to run around for almost the whole game.
- Losing 2-1 to Chelski.

No wins in 3 matches!! Wah Lau!!!

Only Liverpoo is capable of such a feat.

But I know one thing that will cheer all of us up:

Making Things Interesting...

Looking at the starting 11 which consists of:-
Van Der Sar, Ferdinand, Vidic, Silvestre, Brown, Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson, Nani, Giggs, & Rooney; ( a team selection like this, esp without Ronaldo, only works against Arse-anal, as proven in the FA Cup 4-0 drubbing)

I was seriously having doubts about Sir Alex's team selection, especially when this could've been the day we won the Championship at Stamford Bridge.

With Vidic out with a concussion and a broken something in his mouth not even midway through the first half, it didn't help very much as Hagreaves had to play in his unnatural right-back position.

With West Ham and Wigan looming, and not to forget Barca at OT, i shudder to think of the implications of today's lost.

But I'm sure we'll pull through it cause,

Manchester United is the best football club in the world! (you'd thought i forgot to include it in the beginning didn't ya?)

Getchiu!

Manchester United is the best football club in the world.

This is why Ronaldo decided to pull a Ronaldinho Nike advert during a crucial Semi-Final 1st Leg game in the UEFA Champions League.

Sources said that Nike paid Ronaldo 138298382189744 pounds to pull it off. Nike was well happy to show the world that their Mercurial Vapor series boots are as accurate as hell.

Job done Ronaldo, though, no more Nike ads this weekend against Chelsea, and next week against Barca at Old Trafford.

Barca, we're gonna GETCHIU!

*sheepish*

Manchester United is the best football club in the world.
Heee...

Too bad Riisah ain't a Man Utd player.
Scoring an own goal in Man Utd earns you a round of drink from the gaffer...employee's benefits.
Too bad...who asked Rissah to be a Liverpoo player, huh? Next thing you know, Rissah's house gets burglarised.

Hence, this is why Man Utd's still the best club in the world. Handsome players, hairdryer gaffer, sweet jersey, sexy home ground, and free drinks when scoring an own goal.

Nou Camp hia we kaam~!

And The Final Score Is...

Full report of the game here.

94th minute of the game and the Kop were singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" in full volume showing their pride of beating Chelski 1-0 as my colleague predicted in the previous post.

But lo and behold! This happened!

John Arne Riise decided to give Chelski a going away gift in the last minute of the game.

Conclusion:- Advantage Chelski

Cancelling Each Other Out part 2

Manchester United is the best football club in the world.

The game starts in a few minutes.

Basing the previous encounters of these two clubs, and being a fan of live commentary (the update everyone minute one), the commentary of this game most likely will be as such

0' - Steven 'not as good as C.Ronaldo' Gerard and Fernando 'is so hot' Torres kicks off the 2148615th meeting of Liverpoo and Chelski. This promises to be a good match (very optimistic commentator).

45' - Half Time
45' - Didier 'no no gaffar' Drogba and Fiorentina Malouda kicks off the second half of a match that is building up (still very optimistic)

50' - Fernando 'is so hot' Torres scores a screamer!

51' - Substitution: Torres and Dirk 'headless chicken' Kuyt comes off for Sami '100 years old' Hyypia and John Arsenal Riise

55' - Chelski having a hard time penetrating Liverpoo's 10 men defense.

90' + 3' - Full time. Liverpoo 1-0 Chelski

Cancelling Each Other Out

Manchester United is the best football club in the world.

Later at 2:45 am, Wednesday morning, Liverpoo will take on Chelski at Analfield.

Watch the mighty battle as two 'entertaining' teams cancel each other out.

The only reason why i'm posting this is because i'm concerned about which English team we're gonna beat in the Champions League final.

Liverpoo - Eternal rivals, beating them in a tournament they claim to be excellent in would surely infuriate the Scousers

Chelski - The pretenders to our Premier League crown. Would be nice to pip them for both trophies. This would result in Roman Abrdodjfvbich being tempted to buy the entire squad of whichever country that wins Euro '08.

p.s.:- I would safely assume that either Torres or Gerrard will get on the score sheet today.

Draws

Manchester United is the best football club in the world.

But! We had to draw against a shietty Blackburn side, managed by Sparky(Mark Hughes, ex-Man Utd player). Our away record at Ewood Park has been appalling in recent times. Kena jampi by Blackburn Bomohs United.

Reasons why we drew and gave Chelski hope of stealing the title from us:-
  1. Giggs has been struggling in recent times. Great servant, yes! Time to retire and take a position at the management team in ManUtd, yes!
  2. Fergie should have rested key players, these fellas only had Barca in mind. Probably trying to stay injury-free and saving their best. The likes of Fletcher, O'Shea, Pique and whoever isn't going to start in Barca should have started instead. They'd be more interested in the Blackburn game.
Bwargh!

Manchester United Facts

Manchester United is the best football club in the world.

There's no such thing as a draw when Manchester United plays. Manchester United always wins.
i.e: if Man Utd v *insert random football team name* = 0-0, 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, or 4-4, Manchester United still wins!

Manchester United's home jersey is so red, Liverpool FC should be known as The Pinks.

Alex Ferguson can dry your hair. No electric sockets required.

If Manchester United ever, ever do lose a match (yeah, right), our players are handsome.

If a magic genie appears to a man stranded in a deserted island, and gives the man just one wish, he'd wish for a Manchester United jersey.

Whenever a Manchester United player scores a goal, every traffic light in Manchester turns red.

If a Manchester United player gets a yellow card, the club rewards him with a new car. If its a red card, he gets a new house.

Manchester United has 13 essential vitamins and helps digestion. It also prevents blocked nose.

Once there was a man who got dumped by his girlfriend of 5 years. Afterwards, he discovered that his car was stolen. He walked home to find his pet goldfish Lampard dead. He ran out of clean underwear. His pen ran out of ink. His family suddenly disowned him. He contemplated suicide. But somehow he gathered whatever valuables he had left, pawned them and took a flight to Manchester, to see the Old Trafford. He came back a changed man. He is now happily married with 2 children, a steady job, and has a dog named Drogba.

Menchesthair United top

Man Utd is the best football club in the world.

The only other team close to reaching our standard is the Man Utd reserves team.
Next in line is the youth team, followed by the Man Utd Under-12s.

I can't think of any other football club that qualifies to be mentioned in the same breath alongside the aforementioned football teams.

Maaaybe Real Madrid.
